Virtual Workshop: Computational Thinking: Break It Down
Date: Wednesday, February 23, 2022
Time: 1:00 – 2:30 pm CT
Join us for another hands-on, interactive workshop designed to introduce Computer Science to out-of-school time professionals. More and more afterschool programs, museums, and libraries are adding Computer Science programming. This is an opportunity for your team to build their confidence and competence in this area.
You will learn how breaking a problem into smaller, manageable parts – decomposing a problem – is key to computational thinking. You will get strategies to help youth learn how to decompose a problem and develop as computational thinkers. You will get to experience a hands-on activity from Code.org that doesn’t require computers.
This will be a hands-on learning experience. You will need some blank paper, a pen, crayons or markers, and scissors with you during the workshop. Handouts will be sent in advance of the workshop.
Please register in advance. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
